Established in 1945, Carstairs Pianos of Canterbury, have been tuning, restoring and supplying pianos for over 60 years. We are able to restore grand and upright pianos to the highest possible standard, using the finest quality materials and traditional techniques.

As a company we have almost 65 years of experience in restoring older pianos. We therefore feel able to give honest advice regarding the viability of restoring your piano.
T u n i n g
To obtain the best results pianos should be tuned twice a year. This allows for any variation in temperature and humidity. It also provides an opportunity to make any minor repairs and adjustments that may be necessary. Without regular tuning and maintenance pianos will deteriorate, pitch can drop, notes stick and pedals squeak, making playing less rewarding and enjoyable.

About Us Ackerman Music was started in Hove in 1994 by Brian Ackerman. Today, Brian and his wife Lynne have expanded the business to include 4 shops in Sussex and a successful online presence.
